How to Cook Corn-on-the-Cob

 

Nothing taste as good as a fresh ear of corn late in the summer, unless it's a fresh ripe tomato. Corn is easy to prepare just follow these steps.

To Kettle Cook:

  1. Remove husks form fresh ears of corn.
  2. Scrub with a corn silk brush
  3. Rinse
  4. Place corn in a large pot,cook, covered in a small amount of salted boiling water (or, cook, uncovered in enough water to cover the corn) for 6 to 8 minutes.

 

To Foil Cook:

  1. Coat ears of corn with butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Wrap each ear in foil.
  3. Bake at 450 degrees for about 30 minutes.
  4. Turn several times while baking.

To Microwave:

  1. Wrap each ear in waxed paper
  2. Place on paper towel or in a nonmetal baking dish; cover.
  3. Cook on high power.

1 ear = 2 minutes

2 ears = 3 to 4 minutes

3 ears = 5 to 7 minutes

4 ears = 8 to 10 minutes

5 ears = 10 to 12 minutes

6 ears = 12 to 14 minutes

Rearrange the ears of corn halfway through the cooking time.
