Nothing taste as good as a fresh ear of corn late in the
summer, unless it's a fresh ripe tomato. Corn is easy to prepare
just follow these steps.
To Kettle Cook:
- Remove husks form fresh ears of corn.
- Scrub with a corn silk brush
- Rinse
- Place corn in a large pot,cook, covered in a small amount
of salted boiling water (or, cook, uncovered in enough water
to cover the corn) for 6 to 8 minutes.
To Foil Cook:
- Coat ears of corn with butter and sprinkle with salt and
pepper to taste.
- Wrap each ear in foil.
- Bake at 450 degrees for about 30 minutes.
- Turn several times while baking.
To Microwave:
- Wrap each ear in waxed paper
- Place on paper towel or in a nonmetal baking dish; cover.
- Cook on high power.
1 ear = 2 minutes
2 ears = 3 to 4 minutes
3 ears = 5 to 7 minutes
4 ears = 8 to 10 minutes
5 ears = 10 to 12 minutes
6 ears = 12 to 14 minutes
Rearrange the ears of corn halfway through the cooking time.
